Youth Cricket

Dedham CC currently has a flourishing cricket academy for young cricketers aged between 8 and 13, with a team entered into the local U13 Terrier cricket league, as well as hosting our own and participating in other local Kwik Cricket tournaments each year. Coaching takes place before the start of the season indoors, with sessions at our beautiful home ground on the Drift in Dedham occurring during the cricket season. It is intended that the number and regularity of coaching sessions will increase in the future. We have one ECB level 1 coach presently qualifying for ECB Level 2, and two UKCC Level 1 coaches. All of our coaches have a First Aid certificate, and they and volunteers are all CRB checked. We take the safety of our young players very seriously and adhere to the ECB policy on safeguarding and protecting children as introduced in the ECB pamphlet called “Safe Hands”. The aim of the Dedham CC academy is to provide fun and competitive cricket games and sessions for young players under the age of 13 who we hope will progress into the senior team in due course, as some players have already done. We welcome any interest from new players and actively encourage assistance from parents in all facets such as umpiring, scoring and making the teas.
